Marín Castán replaces Segoviano, now a Constitutional magistrate

MADRID, 14 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government, at the proposal of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), has appointed the magistrate and interim president of the Supreme Court, Francisco Marín Castán, as a member of judicial origin of the Central Electoral Board (JEC).

As published this Tuesday by the Official State Gazette (BOE), Marín Castán replaces María Luisa Segoviano, former president of the Social Chamber of the Supreme Court and who a month ago took office as a new magistrate of the Constitutional Court.

The Permanent Commission of the CGPJ already announced in January that it had chosen Marín Castán, also president of the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court, to be a member of this electoral body, which is made up of Supreme Court magistrates and professors appointed by the parties represented in The deputies congress.

Marín Castán has been acting top leader of the Supreme Court since last October, following the resignation of Carlos Lesmes.
