"If there is an error, the normal thing would be to fix it. The issue is that it is not easy because you can try to limit this problem since some sentences have had to be reduced because the criminal forks are lower or wider below than the ones it had the previous Law, but that will not solve the problem for all criminals convicted up to now and for those who may be convicted in the future, except for those acts that are committed after the entry into force of this reform", he stressed.

Regarding the willingness of the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, to address a reform of the new rule, but "protecting that consent remains at the heart of the Penal Code", the magistrate believes that "consent has always been" there . "The Penal Code, for a long time, revolves around the consent of the victim," he added.

After emphasizing that with the reform crimes against sexual freedom have been reorganized and those of sexual abuse have been integrated, less serious since there is no violence or intimidation, the minimum limit of sentences has been lowered, which "leads reductions in sorrows".

For this reason, it has insisted that, if this Law is modified, "the problem would be solved" for the crimes that are committed after the entry into force of the eventual reform, but not for those perpetrated previously.

The senior judge in Bilbao has insisted that the accusation by the Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, of "machismo" of the "judicial right" is "really reprehensible", and believes that it is "an excuse to try to cover up this error". that his Ministry has committed with the new Law of only yes is yes.

"Politicians cannot sell that so many sentences are reduced. It is very unfair because all judges have an ideology, but they teach us from the outset to resolve regardless of our ideology," he stated.

Aner Uriarte, who has been re-elected as head of the Dean's Office for the next four years, has considered that there are two challenges, one of which is the implementation of the digital file in all jurisdictions. Specifically, today it is implemented in the Civil courts.
