Telephone punctures incriminate Juana Canal's ex-partner and suspect an accomplice

The detainee will be transferred again this morning to the place where the skeletal remains were found.

MADRID, 27 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The judge investigating the crime of Juana Canal, the resident of Ciudad Lineal who disappeared 19 years ago, authorized last September a telephone tap to control the conversations of the victim's ex-partner after the investigation was reopened as a result of the appearance in 2019 of a femur and a skull in a place near Navalacruz, sources close to the case have informed Europa Press and 'El Mundo' has advanced.

According to the investigations, the ex-partner would have given himself away in one of the telephone conversations and would even have pointed to the possible participation of a third person in the transfer of the corpse from the apartment on Boldano Street in Ciudad Lineal where the crime would have been allegedly executed to the wooded area of Ávila where the bones are being found.

Juana's ex-partner, a carny by profession, was arrested yesterday after the search device found more bone remains a few days ago in the same place in Ávila where more bones were located in 2019.

The man was arrested near Torrejón de Ardoz and transferred to the Ávila farm near the place where the remains appeared in a joint device between the National Police and the Civil Guard. Today he will also be transferred to this same place to participate and collaborate in the inspection of a booth located in this area.

Research sources consulted by Europa Press confirmed that bone remains had been found in the raids in the Navalacruz area, pending analysis, belonging to a femur and hip.

The National Police and the Civil Guard of Ávila launched on October 17 in the municipality of Navalacruz a device to search for the mortal remains of Juana Canal Luque, the resident of Ciudad Lineal who disappeared in February 2003 and whose skull appeared in 2019 in this area.

The search focused on an area of Ávila frequented by the suspect, Juana's partner at the time, and where the body was found in 2019. One of the hypotheses of the Police is that the victim was murdered in his own apartment in Madrid and His body was later transferred.

The woman, who in 2003 was 38 years old and lived in Madrid with her children and her new partner, disappeared after a strong argument with him. It was on February 22 of that year when one of the sons returned home after spending the night outside and found a note written by his mother's partner, which told him that they had had a strong argument and that she had run away and not he had managed to find her.
