European Prosecutor's Office archives the investigation against former CDC leader David Madí

BARCELONA, Nov. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) -

The European Public Prosecutor's Office has filed the investigation against former CDC leader David Madí for alleged fraud in subsidies during the distribution of European funds.

In the decree, consulted this Monday by Europa Press, the prosecutors agree to file it "due to lack of evidence", finding no more evidence against Madí than a telephone conversation in the framework of the 'Voloh' operation.

The conversation sent reveals the existence of an agreement between the interlocutors to channel European funds through advice to future clients for the presentation of projects at a meeting of the Foment del Treball employers' association, of which he is a member.

"It is true that the conversation shows that Madí has contacts or private relationships that he uses in the development of his professional activity as an advisor in this field," they explained.

However, they add that at the present time, with the possible avenues of investigation exhausted, "it is not possible to determine either the identity of the contacts or whether, in the development of his advisory activity, he used such contacts to obtain or improperly use European grants.

Thus, they have considered that "there is not sufficient evidence to consider the criminal offense that originated the present case to have been committed", without prejudice to being able to reopen the investigation in the event of finding new facts that justify it.
