The former Valencian president makes the leader of the plot ugly for his alleged lies

MADRID, 31 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The former president of the Generalitat Valenciana Francisco Camps has confronted this Tuesday with the leader of the 'Gürtel' plot, Francisco Correa, whom he has reproached for his statement before the court that is judging them for the alleged irregularities in the award to Orange Market, a of the companies in the network.

Witnesses present at the time of the event have confirmed to Europa Press that the former regional leader has waited for Correa at the doors of the room once the session on Tuesday, held at the headquarters of the National Court in San Fernando de Henares, has concluded. . "You are a son of a bitch", he snapped at him, according to the aforementioned witnesses.

Camps, annoyed with Correa's statement - who has confessed to the facts and has reached an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office - has described him as a liar and has assured that the attitude of the leader of the plot is having consequences in his private life.

In response to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, Correa assured this Friday that he met Camps at the wedding of the daughter of former Prime Minister José María Aznar and that he met him "two or three times", meeting him for a few minutes in a hotel . In addition, Correa has pointed to the now former Valencian president as the person who introduced 'Gürtel' into the Valencian Community.

These witnesses explain that Camps, upset with the version offered by Correa, has assured that they had not seen each other "in life." In addition, the former president would have also made it very clear, against those supported by Álvaro Pérez 'El Bigotes', that they have never had any friendly relationship.

This brief dispute has concluded with the departure of the headquarters of the National Court of Camps, which has left the building without making statements to the media. The witnesses consulted indicate that the lawyer of the former Valencian president approached Correa after the incident to ask for his forgiveness.

Camps' defense sources, on the contrary, maintain that the former president would not have uttered any insults to Correa, who would simply have made his lies ugly. "You are ruining my life", he has directed him when leaving the room.

The same sources indicate that the former leader would have been annoyed by the joke used by Correa at the end of his statement, when the president of the court reminded him that he could waive his right to have the last word so as not to attend more trial sessions. "If they give me the third grade, I'll come", joked the leader of 'Gürtel'.

In this context, the sources reduce the confrontation to a mere dialectical exchange that would have concluded when Camps' lawyer approached his client and separated him from Correa himself. In any case, they deny that the lawyer has approached the ringleader of the plot to apologize.

In the days prior to this session, Camps had been criticizing what he considered "dark and obscene" pacts by the Prosecutor's Office with the main defendants in this trial, including Correa himself, his 'number two' Pablo Crespo or the who was the manager of Orange Market, 'El Bigotes'.

It should be remembered that Camps is facing a request from the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for two and a half years in prison for the alleged irregularities in the award to Orange Market, one of the companies in the 'Gürtel' plot, of the contract for the Valencian exhibitor of the Fitur 2009 edition.
