ALICANTE, 13 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Bumerania Robotics company has joined the Science Park of the University of Alicante (UA). The company unites social robotics with artificial intelligence to “improve people’s quality of life.”

The vice-rector for Transfer, Innovation and Scientific Dissemination of the University of Alicante (UA), María Jesús Pastor, and the manager of the Alicante Science Park (PCA), Esteban Pelayo, made official this Wednesday the incorporation of Bumerania, in an event in which was also attended by the CEO of the company, Isidro Fernández, as indicated by the UA in a statement.

Bumerania won the award for the best startup in the network of Valencian science parks in June 2023 and plans to install its headquarters in the new PCA building. Currently, it has delegations in seven countries: Abu Dhabi, Argentina, Paraguay, Portugal, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Spain.

The company is “strongly committed” to the internationalization of its products and has a “great team” of professionals, made up of robotics, computer science and product engineers, mostly graduates of the UA.

Its robots are equipped with artificial intelligence and programmed to interact with the environment, offering their service in hotels, restaurants and hospitals, among others. “Our mission is to put intelligent social robotics at the service of people and become leaders capable of improving people’s quality of life,” they highlighted.

“Through robotics and artificial intelligence we can guarantee higher levels of satisfaction and improve the customer experience, by increasing the productivity of the services offered, reducing unnecessary waiting times and avoiding repetitive and costly tasks,” said Fernández.

To this end, he considers that the link with the PCA will be a “strong boost”, since it will allow them to “deepen the relationship with the UA and with the enormous talent it provides us, either through its researchers or its students and graduates”.

For his part, Esteban Pelayo has shown his satisfaction with this agreement. “We are delighted to include a leading company like Bumerania to our innovation ecosystem in the robotics sector,” he emphasized.

With this incorporation there are now more than 35 companies linked to the Alicante Science Park. “We continue to grow and form the largest innovation ecosystem in the province,” said Pelayo.
