job seekers should be vigilant. Close to a job offer on ten published on the website of the Pôle emploi is in effect "non-compliant with the legal framework", according to a study by the public operator published on 19 July. The main reason advanced: inconsistencies in their content,

In his study, the operator has analyzed a random sample of 4.770 offers available on the 20th of June on the site pole-emploi.fr. The large majority (90,7%) were considered to be consistent with the framework set by the labour code, against 9.3% deemed non-compliant.

"It is the employer who is responsible"

Three-quarters of the deals illegal the are due to inconsistencies (6.8 per cent) in their writing. This may include, for example, offers asking for "5 years of professional experience" but stating that "beginners are welcome". The other offers illegal are contrary to the legislation on fixed-term contracts (up 0.8%, example: "CDD with possibility of extension in the CDI"), on discrimination (0.4% as example: "my student"), or even detrimental to the freedoms of the job seekers (0,5%, for example: "no criminal record").

"Behind an offer of employment non-compliance, it may not necessarily be bad intentions," says Catherine Lice, director of business services at the job center. She warns that "it is the employer who is responsible for the content of the offer that it publishes".

many attempts of fraud avoided

The study does not detect necessarily offers so-called "fraudulent", which can be written correctly, but hide people wanting to defraud the job seekers.

To detect the upstream non-compliance or fraud, Pôle emploi uses of the algorithms, in particular by the key-word. In the case of an alert, the offers are controlled by an adviser or, if the offer comes from a partner, be automatically suspended. In case of suspicion of fraud, the offers are removed.

"Over the last 30 days, we avoided 2.000 attempts of fraud," reveals Catherine Lice.

job center prepares for back to school, a tool with an artificial intelligence capable of detecting the content and the suspicious behavior of the fraudsters. The operator is also working on a best practices white paper.

in the long run, Pôle emploi wants to initiate a certification, to get "under the gaze of a body certifying who will control (its) procedures to ensure the quality of job offers," says Catherine Lice.
