Vox takes the energy saving decree to the TC for the "interference with freedom" and the "exorbitant" fines

The parliamentary spokesman for Vox, Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, explained this Friday that, in the coming weeks, they will appeal the decree law on energy saving measures before the Constitutional Court (TC) -- approved on Thursday in the Congress of Deputies -- based on the legal argument of the "interference with the freedom" of the Spaniards and the "exorbitant" fines.

This has been transferred by Espinosa in an interview on 'TVE', collected by Europa Press, in which he has criticized that the decree can impose fines of "up to 100 million euros" and that it "imposes" installing measures in businesses that involve a mandatory outlay, such as the installation of an automatic door closing system.

"This decree imposes a series of barbarities on all merchants to try to cover up the Government's inability to manage," the spokesperson in Congress has sentenced, while stressing that what Vox is asking for is "just the opposite" , that the Executive "assumes its powers" and guarantees "a Spain with supply capacity at reasonable prices".

In this sense, Espinosa has indicated that in the same way that confinement during the pandemic was considered unconstitutional, "today they want to subject Spain to an energy confinement." "One more nail in the coffin of the self-employed" which, according to his opinion, has been the fault of the "climate fanaticism" of the Government.

Likewise, the Vox spokesman in Congress has stated that the Executive's position regarding climate change should be "reviewed" since it "prevents" the exploitation of Spain's energy resources. "We are the only country in the world. You have to be stupid," he has disfigured.

For this reason, he has insisted on being able to generate more supply and use coal and nuclear energy, which "is what has allowed stability for 40 years." In this way, there would not be an increase of 300 euros per month in the gas bill, "tax that this Government has brought", among other things, he has said.

On the other hand, when asked about the proposal to raise the minimum interprofessional salary, Espinosa de los Monteros pointed out that this increase should not be the responsibility of the employer, but that "the minimum wage in all of Spain can be raised by lowering the social security contribution and income tax".

"It would be much easier if the salary increase were at the expense of reducing the size of the State", he added and, although this proposal would generate debt, he pointed out that the solution is to review the State's bills.

"For me, I want it to rise by 100,000 euros, but since that is not possible, we have to see how much they are willing to reduce the general state budgets," he added.
