Vox asks Marlaska for explanations about the approach of ETA "assassins" and asks him what he expects in return

MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Vox has requested the appearance of the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska, to explain in Congress the reasons for the decision to transfer thirteen ETA prisoners to prisons in the Basque Country, among them "murderers" who accumulate "72 deaths" their backs and "642 years of sentence".

"Is it the fulfillment by the Government of an obligation assumed by virtue of a political pact? - Vox asks -. What compensation does the Government hope to obtain with the approach of these 13 prisoners to Basque prisons?"

With the questions that it has registered in Congress along with the request to appear, the party led by Santiago Abascal also asks to know if Penitentiary Institutions or even the Ministry has held meetings "with representatives of ETA-Bildu" since 2019.

In his opinion, with this new transfer "the government shows its lack of scruples and its dedication to a formation that represents the objectives and heritage of a gang of murderers." "In exchange for their votes, the Executive does not hesitate to grant benefits to terrorists who, given the perversity manifested in their repeated crimes, are more than worthy of the prison sentences imposed by the Courts," he maintains.

In the writings, signed by a group of deputies headed by the general secretary of the party, Javier Ortega-Smith, they also wonder if the government intends to end the legislature with all ETA prisoners in Basque prisons under the jurisdiction of the nationalist government led by the GNP.

For Vox, this transfer policy supposes "an iniquitous violation of the right of the victims and their relatives to obtain justice, of which the current Government is an accomplice."
