UP sectors highlight how Irene Montero enhances her political profile while the relationship with Sumar stagnates

They reproach Podemos for tensing more than necessary and pressing to gain strength in a future Broad Front.

MADRID, 4 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Sectors of Unidas Podemos appreciate that the Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, has strengthened her public profile and her ideological side, which coincides with the dynamics of claiming the purple formation as the main party to the left of the PSOE.

All this in a context in which the relationship with Sumar, the platform promoted by Yolanda Díaz, in the face of the general elections remains in the air, together with the call of the purple ones for clarification.

Space sources see clearly that Montero has increased his role as a result of the controversies over the Law of 'only yes is yes' and his defense of the regulations against the reduction of sentences applied to those convicted in various courts, the differences with the PSOE by the Trans Law, the attacks by Vox in Congress and the controversy generated by its accusations of the PP of promoting the "culture of rape" through institutional campaigns for 25N in Galicia or Madrid.

In this sense, they emphasize that these events motivate this greater public exposure and the need to defend himself against high pressure (with the right calling for his resignation), but it is also serving to vindicate his figure and a greater accentuation of his political facet in that scenario. .

The purples recently deployed an act of closing ranks with Montero, with a large mobilization of supporters and cadres, led by the general secretary Ione Belarra, and the Minister of Equality was defended as a reference and vanguard of feminist policies, in addition to denouncing the "political hunt" to try to destroy it.

The rest of the leaders of the confederal space have also shown their support for Montero. However, certain sectors of the confluence of the left also think that there is a clear message internally, to set the agenda and demonstrate the ability of Podemos to wage an ideological battle with the right, in line with the party's conclusion of the ' Autumn Uni'.

And here these voices see a contrast with the profile of Díaz, more focused on the economic and labor proposal, with a style that tends to reduce confrontation and in the midst of the construction phase of her platform that also limits her to take the initiative up to now.

They also stress that the leadership that Díaz applies to space is based on executive coordination, but they believe it is necessary for him to raise his more political facet soon and set the main line at the confederal confluence.

They also stress that it is evident that the tension within the space persists and that relations have been cracking. In fact, some voices in space call for changing the dynamics, mending relationships, and admitting that all parties have a part of the responsibility for making an effort to find matching formulas.

In recent weeks, various sources in space have emphasized that the uncertainty surrounding Sumar causes discomfort in Podemos and some recognize that something is being done wrong if the purple feel displaced. There is also an abundance of criteria that this party is tensing more than necessary and pressing to gain strength in a future Broad Front.

Even so, nobody wants to put themselves in the fracture scenario and they delve into the need for unity for the next electoral cycle.

Last Monday, Montero herself reported that there was still time for a coalition with Sumar, since the party does not want to be subsumed on that platform, which she defined as her "party", and that it was the vice president who had to clarify her plans. The party leadership delved into that message by requesting specificity, from its desire to come together in unity candidacies.

At the beginning of the month and after the 'Uni de otoño', Podemos claimed a message of respect for his achievements within the left and his status as the main political actor in the axis of the left, with a view to a future confluence.

Already in that forum, the Minister of Equality had an outstanding intervention but focused on highlighting the militancy of Podemos, as well as its push to form the coalition government and the most outstanding progress of the legislature.

For his part, Díaz continues with his project and yesterday, in Galicia, called to "add up" in reference to other leftist forces and to be "responsible" so that the "hate party" does not reach "the public administrations".

He also expressed the need to be exemplary and avoid the "noise" generated by the opposition, to focus on policies to improve people's lives.
