The final price of the purchase of Oi's mobile assets by Telefónica Brasil, Claro and Telecom Italia will be settled in arbitration with the selling party, after no agreement has been reached on the final adjustment to close the operation .
Telefónica Brasil has notified its investors on Monday of the execution of this clause of the purchase contract, after the parties have not reached an agreement, since the buyers asked Oi for a reduction of 3,186 million Brazilian reais (620.3 million euros at the exchange rate) after evaluating the assets received.
The required amount, of which 1,075 million reais (209 million euros) would correspond to Telefónica, greatly exceeded the 1,477 million reais (287 million euros) that remained to be paid, so Oi had to return part of the funds received to buyers.
In parallel, the three operators also sent Oi another request for compensation for 353 million reais (66.76 million euros) after completing the review of the mobile inventory acquired, which has also generated discrepancies.
