The PSOE justifies the payment of expropriations of the rescued highways: "A Government has to pay what it owes"

MADRID, 24 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE has recognized this Wednesday in Congress the existence of "collateral issues" in the energy efficiency decree law, such as speeding up the payment of expropriations related to the rescued radial highways, but has defended it by assuring that "a government has to pay what what should".

This has been stated by its parliamentary spokesman, Patxi López, at a press conference called in the Lower House where he has claimed the need to validate the decree law this Thursday, given the risk that the energy saving plan, aid for rail transport and goods by road and scholarships for study are repealed.

Asked about the fact that several opposition groups are opposed to rejecting other measures, López declined to make an assessment, assuring that "what matters is the result" of the negotiations.

"But I already know that there are collateral issues. The radio stations, or paying some expropriations, but the thing is that a government has to pay what it owes," justified the PSOE's parliamentary spokesman.

Specifically, in the decree law the Government modified the regulations on the liquidation of the rescue of the rescued radial highways, to speed up the processes and reduce the costs derived from the expropriations and the calculation of the so-called Patrimonial Responsibility of the Administration (RPA).

These expropriations remained pending payment by the concessionaire companies but, after the recovery of the highways by the State, they are being paid by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda as a result of court rulings, as recognized by the Government in the decree law itself.
