The PSOE defends the honesty of Chaves and Griñán and asks Feijóo for "modesty"

MADRID, 26 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE maintains its defense of the "honesty" of the former presidents of the Junta de Andalucía Manuel Chaves and José Antonio Griñán after the decision of the Supreme Court on the irregular use of regional subsidies for Employment Regulation Files (ERE) and has He asked for "modesty" from the Popular Party and its president, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, whom he reminded that its headquarters on Génova Street "is paid for with illegal financing".

This was stated by the national spokesperson for the Socialists, Pilar Alegría, at a press conference in Ferraz. "They pay the just for sinners", she has denounced about the former Andalusian presidents, maintaining that neither Chaves nor Griñán "at any time personally benefited from anything".

Alegría recalled that the judicial procedure began eleven years ago and has transferred the respect of the PSOE to justice, while regretting some events "that should never have occurred."

However, he has insisted that "only their authors" are responsible for these behaviors and has excluded the former presidents of the Board, whose honesty he has defended by insisting that none "remained a cent of a euro".

In fact, he has stressed that their "integrity" went so far as to renounce any public responsibility when they were charged, something that he has said "radically contrasts" with the conduct of other political leaders. Without quoting anyone directly, he has denounced that others "have remained and remain in their positions after it has been shown that they profited from money of illegitimate origin."

In addition, he has defended the fund mechanism for the ERE, which has ensured that they managed to "safeguard" jobs and companies in Andalusia and has pointed out that it was approved by the Andalusian Parliament with the vote in favor of the PP.

"From the first moment in the PSOE political responsibilities were assumed and at no time did we look the other way, we did not obstruct justice or use heinous methods to prevent judicial investigations", he emphasized, revealing that he does not know if the President of the Government and leader of the socialists, Pedro Sánchez, has spoken with those sentenced after the ruling but underlining that the entire PSOE defends its "honesty and honorability".

In this context, he has asked Feijóo for "modesty" after the president of the 'popular' has summoned the PSOE to "make decisions" and "purify responsibilities" after the decision of the Supreme Court.

The spokeswoman for the Socialists has recalled that the PP is "the only party convicted of illegal financing" and yet Feijóo has given "no explanation" for it. "This very morning you have held a press conference at a venue that is paid for with illegal financing. Out of respect for the citizens of this country, modesty," he asked the leader of the 'popular'.
