The PP says that Sánchez must dismiss Montero by law of 'yes is yes' but warns that with this he does not delimit his responsibility

Tellado believes that there was "bad faith" with this norm and stresses that now it is rectified by "electoralism"

LOGROÑO, Feb. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Deputy Secretary for Territorial Organization of the Popular Party, Miguel Tellado, has defended this Wednesday the dismissal of the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, but has warned the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, that "he is wrong" if he believes that with that he delimits their responsibility for what happened with this standard.

"Sánchez is as responsible as Montero for the consequences", declared Tellado, who has traveled to Logroño to participate in a working meeting with the Campaign Committee of the Popular Party of La Rioja for the elections on May 28.

In a press conference together with the president of the La Rioja PP, Alberto Galiana, Tellado has referred to the Law of 'only yes is yes' as "one of the biggest legal disasters".

The leader of the PP has indicated that "of course" Sánchez must dismiss Montero, but he has also understood that "dodging this matter by the President of the Government would be an unprecedented exercise in political cowardice" because "he is as responsible as Montero for the consequences".

Therefore, he has understood that "different voices of the Socialist Party try to establish a smokescreen and separate themselves from a problem that they themselves have allowed and led."

He has insisted that "the damage caused by Sánchez's irresponsibility is irreparable." He has welcomed his attempt at "rectification" but has recalled that the new law will not reverse the sentence reductions.

For Tellado, "there has been bad faith in the approval of this law", because the PP was warned of the "consequences", therefore, "they knew the negative effects when they approved it".

In the Council of Ministers, he has indicated, they were "fully aware" of the consequences of the law and, in fact, he has said, there are three jurists in it and they were "warned" in the Council of Ministers itself.

In his opinion, they rectify now because they are aware of the electoral damage that it will do to them. "Rectify for pure and hard electoralism," he asserted, demanding that Sánchez "assume his responsibilities" and have the "courage to apologize" and the "humility necessary to assume his mistake."
