The PP says that it is waiting for a call from the Government to renew both the CGPJ and the TC after Commissioner Reynders' visit

MADRID, 3 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP's Deputy Secretary for Institutions, Esteban González Pons, assured this Monday that he is waiting for a call from the Government of Pedro Sánchez to sit down to renew both the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and the Constitutional Court, in line with the location that has made by the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, during his visit to Spain a few days ago.

"If we receive a call from the Government, we are going to sit down to negotiate because we believe that this is key," he assured in an interview on Onda Cero, which Europa Press has collected, where he has assured that this matter "is not discussed in the subway " --in allusion to the words of the Minister of Justice-- but "it affects the constitutional architecture" of Spain.

González Pons has assured that Alberto Núñez Feijóo has been in charge of the Presidency of the PP for only five months while the CGPJ has expired for more than three and a half years. and he has added that in these months the PP has made "all possible efforts to untangle the knot".

After defending that the CGPJ and the Constitutional Court be elected at the same time, the leader of the PP has summoned the Government to "play fair" and say what its proposals are for the TC. In his opinion, it is not "acceptable" that the Government continues to "pressure" the CGPJ to elect its members when the Government has not made its own known, something that, in his opinion, shows that "there is a certain political evil background".
