MADRID, 28 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Popular Party maintains that its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is "interested" in debating with the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, so that the Spanish can "compare" the two models for Spain that each one proposes. This was stated by the general coordinator of that formation, Elías Bendodo, who has insisted that in his party they are "delighted to oppose" these two models "of the country" and of "management".

Precisely this Tuesday, the Minister of Finance and Deputy Secretary General of the PSOE, María Jesús Montero, has described the head of the opposition as a "leader on the run" because, as he has said, he does not want to face the President of the Government in the Senate .

Montero has echoed the information from 'El Diario' assuring that the PP gave up a last 'face to face' between Feijóo and Sánchez in 2022. According to this medium, the opposition spokesman in the Senate, Javier Maroto, did not He seconded in the last meeting to order the work the request of the ERC and Bildu groups, and the PNV, to introduce a control session to the Government together with the processing of the Budgets in the December plenary sessions.

"Every time President Feijóo and President Sánchez have the opportunity to oppose their model of Spain, the PP is interested," said Bendodo, adding that with these debates Spaniards have "the ability to discern and the possibility of comparing ".

Bendodo has assured that, for the one who "did not work out" that is Sánchez, since, as he has said, in two of the debates set in the Senate the President of the Government has had "all the time in the world". The last time, he continued, Sánchez chose to submit to the control question that establishes a time of seven minutes equally, something that, in his opinion, shows that in previous debates he was neither "comfortable nor has it worked out for them".

"We are delighted to contrast country models or management models with President Sánchez, either in the Senate or in Congress," stressed the 'number three' of the PP in a press conference after the steering committee that he has chaired Feijóo.

Sources from the national leadership of the PP have recalled that Alberto Núñez Feijóo - who has been at the head of the national leadership of the party since last April - took possession of his seat in the Senate last May. "Sánchez has only been to the Senate four times in seven months," they have stressed.

In addition, they have indicated that the fact that a control session can be convened for the Government in the Senate in December does not mean that the chief executive will attend it. Thus, they have recalled that Feijóo has only asked Sánchez two control questions, one on June 7 and another on November 22.
