MADRID, 31 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PP considers that the deputy mayor of Madrid, Begoña Villacís, must formulate an "express request" that she wants to join the project led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, although she has made it clear that the lists for the May 28 elections correspond to the preparation of the territories, without "groping" the national leadership. In the case of Madrid, that competence belongs to the Madrid PP chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

In a press conference in the Senate, after the meeting of the Board of Spokesmen, Maroto has indicated that before there should be an "express will to join the PP". A few days ago, the deputy mayor defended that it be the Cs leaders who decide how to go to the May elections, whether on joint platforms with parties like the PP or under the orange brand.

"The express request to belong to the PP project corresponds to Villacís or any other person from Cs," said Maroto, who stressed that "many people" who have voted for the center and the right consider that "the useful option is called Feijóo and the PP" as, in his opinion, they have already been verified in "the last electoral calls".

For his part, the spokesman for the PP campaign committee, Borja Sémper, assured this Tuesday that Feijóo has made it "very clear" that the decision on the electoral lists in Madrid and in other communities corresponds "to those who do politics there", without there being "no groping and influence from the national leadership."

Thus, Sémper has stressed that the person who heads the regional candidacy "has to make up his lists" because he is the one who is "at street level". "This seems responsible and reasonable and they are the ones who best understand which teams they should go with," he declared in an interview on Telecinco, which was collected by Europa Press.

Having said this, he has assured that the doors of the PP "are open" to those who have trusted Cs, the PSOE, other parties or none because they need to add all those people who want to "change politics in Spain" to achieve a "broad majority" at the polls.

"You have to return to a path of good sense, common sense and professionalism and to draw an exciting future for this country and that's where Begoña Villacís comes in and so many other politicians, or people who are not in current politics who want to change things ", he stated, adding that he has an "extraordinary opinion" of the deputy mayor in the personal and political sphere.

In this sense, he has reopened the doors of the PP to those who want a change and has added that "there is going to be a place, a task and a task", given that the challenge that lies ahead "is not minor" because they are going to have that "change the destruction that this government has done and draw a better future for Spain". "There is no one left over here," he assured, to point out that the PP needs talent inside and outside the party.
