The Polisario Front tells the judge not to know who accompanied Ghali to the hospital where he was registered with another passport

The magistrate focuses the investigation on the alleged crime of false documents committed in the registry of the Saharawi leader

MADRID, 13 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Polisario Front Delegation has assured the judge in charge of the investigation of an alleged crime of false documents in the registry of the Saharawi leader, Brahim Ghali, in the San Pedro de Logroño Hospital that he is "totally" unaware of who accompanied his leader when he was entered by a coronavirus painting with a passport that does not correspond to his name.

Legal sources have confirmed to Europa Press that this is how the Delegation responded to the head of the Investigating Court Number 7 of Zaragoza, Rafael Lasala, after he sent them an official letter with a battery of questions with which he intends to clarify who registered Ghali in the hospital on the night of April 18, 2021 with an Algerian passport in the name of Mohamed Benbatouche.

The investigating judge had also asked the Polisario Front if he knew the reasons why Spain was chosen to be the country that attended Ghali for a coronavirus case, if the Delegation participated or not in the management of the trip and if he knew that his leader had proceedings pending in the National High Court.

The sources consulted have specified that, as Vozpópuli has published, the answer has been brief: "Regarding the questions asked and addressed to this delegation, we inform you that we are totally unaware of this fact."

According to these sources, given the words of the Delegation, the popular accusation brought by the lawyer Antonio Urdiales has asked the Court to issue a new official letter, this time addressed to the Front's delegate in Spain, Abdullah Arabi, so that he responds to the questions raised. And he has warned that failure to respond could incur an alleged crime of disobedience.

Already in April, the judge asked the Delegation to provide the address of Luali Brahim Sid El Mustafa, Ghali's son, whom he wants to hear as a witness to clarify why the Polisario leader was identified with a passport that was not matches your data.

The instructor issued an official letter after an interrogation by a hospital worker claimed that Ghali's son could have been the person who brought the false passport to the health center. The employee who registered the Saharawi politician in the admissions service testified on April 11 as a witness and by videoconference before the judge.

Legal sources then assured Europa Press that the worker, although at first she was unable to identify the individual who entered Ghali, finally provided a description that would coincide with the son of the Polisario leader.

According to the investigations, the passport provided to the health center was issued by the Algerian authorities on April 18, 2021, the day he landed at the Zaragoza Air Base without going through border controls or documentation. This despite the fact that, according to former minister Arancha González Laya, the country warned that the one who was flying to Spain was Brahim Ghali.

The judge has opted for the line of investigation related to the alleged documentary falsehood once the Provincial Court of Zaragoza ordered the file of the procedure for the former Minister of Foreign Affairs for alleged crimes of prevarication and cover-up.
