The National Court gives Pablo Crespo the third degree after serving 9 years in prison for the 'Gürtel'

The judge highlights his good conduct and that he has paid civil liability

MADRID, 7 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Central Penitentiary Surveillance Court of the National Court has granted the 'number two' of the 'Gürtel' plot, Pablo Crespo, the third degree after having served 9 years and 3 months in prison.

Legal sources have confirmed to Europa Press that the judge confirms in his order that Crespo complies in excess with all the legal and subjective requirements to access the third degree. Crespo will have to return to sleep in the Soto del Real prison in the same compliance regime as up to now until the corresponding CIS gives him a place.

The same sources explain that Penitentiary Surveillance has agreed to grant the third degree highlighting Crespo's good behavior and after he has paid the civil liability to which he was sentenced.

It should be remembered that Crespo is currently being tried for alleged irregularities in the award to Orange Market, one of the companies in the Gürtel plot, of the contract for the Valencian exhibitor for the Fitur 2009 edition.

Crespo, considered the 'number two' of Francisco Correa, the leader of the Gürtel, was sentenced to 36 years and 8 months by the Supreme Court for the first period of the plot (1999-2005).
