The Government will present the 2023 General Budget project "very soon"

The Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, has confirmed the Government's intention to present the General State Budget project for 2023 "very soon". "We are ready", added the Minister of the Treasury, María Jesús Montero.

In any case, the ministers have not confirmed whether the Council of Ministers will be in a position to approve this project next Tuesday or at a subsequent meeting.

"We are working very hard and very intensely to be able to present the General State Budget project very soon," Bolaños said in the corridors of Congress. "There will be news soon."

What Bolaños has advanced is that the 2023 Budgets will be in line with "protecting the middle and working classes, advancing rights and not leaving anyone abandoned to their fate", as in his opinion was done during the pandemic, with the volcano of the palm or now with the crisis of the war in the Ukraine.

Regarding taxes, Bolaños has limited himself to defending an "equitable distribution of burdens" and, although he may be interested in "downward fiscal competition", he is "much more" interested in an "upward welfare state competition". "We want a better country every day, with more rights and better public benefits and with a fair distribution of burdens, which is called fiscal justice," he stressed.
