The Chechen leader proposes to establish anti-aircraft defense systems in the mountains in the midst of the Ukraine war

MADRID, 18 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Chechen leader, Ramzan Kadirov, has proposed this Monday to establish an anti-aircraft defense system in the mountains of the Chechen Republic in the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Thus, he has pointed out that "Russia needs strategic military solutions" given the current geopolitical context and has put on the table the possibility of establishing a tank unit in the Shali region.

"I think that in the mountains of Chechnya, on the southern border of Russia, anti-aircraft defense systems are needed more than ever," he said on his Telegram channel, according to the Telegram news agency.

Kadirov has also announced the formation of a new special regiment called 'Ajmat Norte' and which will form part of the Russian Defense Ministry. "It includes troops who have military experience in operations in Syria and Ukraine," he has said.

"It is a combat structure that is demanded in modern realities, like three other existing battalions," he asserted.
