The candidate for state attorney general assures that he will reinforce the autonomy and the "right to disagree" of prosecutors

MADRID, 28 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The candidate for the new State Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz, announced this Thursday his intention to improve the decision-making system and criteria formation in the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) to "guarantee the autonomy" of the prosecutors.

García Ortiz, who has appeared before the Congressional Justice Commission to explain his merits to the attorney general, has indicated that he will bet on developing internal mechanisms to "improve" decision-making in the Prosecutor's Office and that there is a "right to disagree."

To do this, the candidate for attorney general has announced that a new circular will be drawn up. "My purpose is to reform and improve this system of decision-making and criteria formation of the Public Prosecutor's Office to guarantee the personal and individual autonomy of prosecutors," García Ortiz stated in his appearance.

Before that, García Ortiz has vindicated the work of his predecessor, Dolores Delgado, at the head of the Public Ministry and at the same time has advanced that his mandate will be a "continuation" of the work carried out by the former Minister of Justice.
