The average monthly expenditure of households will rise by 250 euros if inflation continues, according to a study

Madrid families will be the ones to suffer the greatest increase in family spending, close to 300 euros per month

The average family spending will increase by 250 euros per month this year if inflation continues to skyrocket, above 10%, according to a study carried out by the AIS Group Consultant.

The increase in prices, not only in food and energy, but in practically all the usual items of household spending, will mean, on average, an increase in annual family spending of 3,040 euros per family. Specifically, and according to the report, the total annual expenditure will go from 29,244 euros in 2021 to 32,285 euros in 2022.

According to the study, Madrid families would be the ones to suffer the greatest increase in family spending, close to 300 euros per month. Basque and Navarran families, for their part, will see how their average family spending will have increased above 280 euros per month. Very close are the Catalans and the Balearic Islands, who will have disbursed more than 270 extra euros each month on what was spent in 2021.

On the contrary, the households that will experience a smaller increase in their expenses in absolute terms will be the families of Castilla-La Mancha, who will add an average of 211 euros to their monthly bill compared to last year. Extremadura (215 euros) and Canarians (217 euros) will also do it.

Regardless of the place of residence, according to the AIS Group report, if these levels of inflation are maintained, each Spanish family will see how at the end of the year their expenses will have increased above the equivalent of the total disbursement of one month.
