Teruel Exists seeks the support of Congress so that officials in rural areas have 100% teleworking

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The plenary session of Congress next week will address an initiative of Teruel Exists with which it intends to force the Ministry of Public Administration to implement one hundred percent teleworking for those public employees who are registered in areas affected by depopulation.

The deputy of Teruel Exists, Tomás Guitarte, already questioned the Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, this week about this issue. Now, she has turned into a motion her claim that officials with houses in rural areas can have one hundred percent of telecommuting.

In the interpellation, Minister Montero defended the implementation of 90% of teleworking for those public employees in unpopulated areas and/or with difficult coverage, whenever possible.

However, Teruel Exists seeks that, in jobs dependent on the public sector, the Government encourages one hundred percent teleworking, as long as it is registered in a municipality belonging to an unpopulated rural area or in a small city of a province. or region affected by depopulation, and your residence for teleworking is located in that locality.

According to the text of the motion, to which Europa Press has had access, Guitarte also urges the Executive of Pedro Sánchez to approve a provision that regulates work in the public sector, which must include "actions and measures necessary to advance territorial cohesion and reverse depopulation.

Another of the points that Guitarte demands is that the public employee unions be informed of the procedure for preparing this regulation, "opening a participation process to achieve a consensus on the content of the regulation of teleworking with the aforementioned union representatives and within the general objective of the provision.

It also asks that it prepare and disseminate a code of good practices that encourages the implementation of teleworking in public administrations "to advance in the reversal of depopulation and contribute to territorial cohesion".
