Telefónica has acquired the Brazilian digital solutions provider Vita IT, through its subsidiary in the country, Telefónica Infraestructura y Seguridad (TIS).

The operation has been approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense of Brazil (CADE), the competition body of the South American country, at the end of August, according to the document, consulted by Europa Press.

The Spanish operator was looking for purchase opportunities in Brazil to increase the size of the operations of its digital services area in the country, after having strengthened Telefónica Tech in its other strategic markets with the purchases of Cancom UK

The digital services area of ​​Vivo (Telefónica's brand in Brazil) has billed 2,300 million reais (446 million euros at the exchange rate) until June, 36% more than in the same period of the previous year.

Vita IT, founded in 2013, will bring to the group more than 150 employees and a product portfolio with solutions for connectivity, mobility, video, virtualization, data centers or managed services.
