Tebas, on Florentino Pérez: "His ignorance launches proclamations that can kill Madrid and the rest of the clubs"

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, has assured that the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez, is "one of the best club managers" in "history", but has warned that his "ignorance" regarding competitions can "kill the rest of the clubs", especially with its commitment to the European Super League.

"History will recognize Florentino Pérez as one of the best club managers, but being a great club manager does not mean being a great manager of competitions. From ignorance, Florentino Pérez launches proclamations that can 'kill' the rest of the clubs, even to Real Madrid", he wrote on his official account on the social network Twitter.

The message from the employer's president comes just one day before the white club holds its Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assemblies, where Florentino Pérez is expected to answer some questions related to Real Madrid's insistence on organizing the European Super League .

On April 19, 2021, twelve European clubs, including Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid, announced the creation of a Super League, although the rejection of organizations such as UEFA and FIFA, the different national leagues and of thousands of fans caused the disbandment of several members of the project.

Only the whites, the azulgranas and Juventus remain firm in the initiative today. Now the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) must rule on whether the clubs have the power to organize competitions outside the framework of the main sports institutions and whether FIFA and UEFA abused their dominant position by preventing the competition; its conclusions will be known on December 15.
