Social Security loses 14,000 foreign affiliates in August and chains two months of declines

Social Security lost an average of 14,001 foreign affiliates in August (-0.57%), with which the eighth month of the year closed with 2,437,491 immigrant workers registered in the system, as reported on Tuesday by the Ministry of Inclusion , Social Security and Migrations.

This monthly decrease in foreign workers registered in August is the second in a row after the drop of 11,400 contributors experienced in July.

Of the total number of affiliated foreigners, 834,461 came from EU countries (34.2%) and 1,603,030 from third countries (65.8%). The largest groups of foreign workers are workers from Romania (330,155), Morocco (277,937), Italy (163,819), Colombia (123,850) and Venezuela (119,235).

In addition, the system has 60,469 members from Ukraine, 12,891 more than in February, before the start of the war waged by Russia.

In the last year, the affiliation of foreigners has increased by 217,394 people, which is 9.8% more. Of the total number of foreign contributors, 55.8% are men (1,358,729) and 44.2% are women (1,078,762).

In seasonally adjusted terms, the affiliation of foreigners to Social Security rose in August by 41,440 employed persons compared to the previous month, to a total of 2,419,877 contributors, 230,000 more than before the arrival of the pandemic, in February 2020. first eight months of the year, the system has added a total of 113,000 foreign workers.
