The head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, has sent a letter this Thursday to the president of Castila y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, in which he has warned him that the Government "reserves the possibility of acting in defense of its powers and the current legality" in matters of sexual and reproductive health if at any time the announcement of the Junta de Castilla y León on the anti-abortion measures were to materialize "by any means".

In the letter, Sánchez thanked the regional president who, according to the "public statements" of Mañueco himself, complies with the requirements that the Executive sent in defense of women and has thanked him "sincerely" for his "compliance with the law " and, above all, "the peace of mind that this provides to women" who reside in Castilla y León "when they see that" a measure "that endangered their rights and questioned the maturity and autonomy of their decisions" was rectified.

Likewise, the President of the Government has reminded Mañueco that the Constitution includes equality and freedom "among the highest values ​​of the legal system" and also recognizes, according to Sánchez, "the dignity of people and equality between women and men". as fundamental rights.
