Revolut launches a direct online payment solution

Revolut has launched a new online payment feature that allows merchants in the European Economic Area and the UK to add a direct payment method.

With 'Revolut Pay', payments will be validated through secure features such as Face ID or fingerprint unlocking and no account numbers will be shared, helping to prevent fraud and keep users' funds safe while shopping , as highlighted by the financial app.

Revolut has claimed that online merchants lose up to 80% of their sales due to customers abandoning their shopping carts, often due to long and confusing online checkout processes and limited payment options, for what 'Revolut Pay' aims to reduce these dropouts thanks to the speed of its payment process.

Existing Revolut users can use 'Revolut Pay' and pay via saved cards or directly from their Revolut account balance, while those who are not yet customers can still pay using their saved Mastercard or Visa cards issued by any another provider.

On the other hand, Revolut's new direct payment solution will also offer lower commissions to its business customers.

Revolut founder and CEO Nikolay Storonsky said: "With its speed, convenience, security and low price, 'Revolut Pay' gives merchants a competitive advantage in a rapidly growing e-commerce market."
