Renault will pay up to 1,000 euros gross in the month of October as "extraordinary and non-consolidable pay" with the main objective of protecting the purchasing power of the group's workers in Spain, as reported by the UGT and CC.OO. in two separate press releases collected by Europa Press.

This decision has been communicated at the meeting of the Intercenter Committee of Renault Spain this Thursday in which the current situation in Europe and, specifically, in Spain, "with an inflation triggered by two digits" has been addressed.

The management of Renault has confirmed to the workers' representation the application of a measure that helps the workers of the French multinational of the diamond brand to protect their purchasing power "and thus be able to meet their daily expenses for food, heating , transport, health, etc", explain the unions.

In the case of temporary/temporary workers, they will receive the same pay proportionally to the time in which they have provided services within the accrued period from January 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022. In this way, employees who have provided services from January 1, 2021 and that their contract is in force on September 30 of this year, they will receive one twenty-one for each month of the contract, explains UGT.

And in the case of reductions in working hours, they will be charged proportionally to the reduction recorded as of September 29, 2022, while reductions in working hours to 99% for caring for a sick child will be charged in full, as in the case of periods of suspension for the birth of a child (maternity and paternity) that also generate the right.

For UGT, it means recognizing the work and effort of the Spanish workforce in the face of the difficulties they have had to overcome in recent years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the ERTE, the semiconductor crisis and now "excessive" inflation.

"We are glad that the company's management is in solidarity with the workers in these times of so much uncertainty and difficulty for all. Therefore, we positively value this measure and the steps taken by the company's management to be able to materialize this proposal", recognize from UGT.

In the same sense, CC.OO considers that with this payment of up to 1,000 euros, Renault workers recover "part" of the efforts made during "two and a half years so hard in every way."

"The Renault group, despite a situation like the one that the automobile sector is going through, is profitable, therefore it is fair that part of those benefits fall on the workers of Renault Spain, being the true deserving of this subscription, without no type of exchange or perquisite in the future, the effort is quite ours", adds this union.

CC.OO. He has asked the company to continue in this line so that this measure is not a "flower of a day" and has specifically advocated the creation in Spain of a payment of benefits.
