Reguant denies disobedience and says he would have answered Vox's questions if Marchena had asked them

MADRID, 28 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The CUP spokeswoman in Parliament, Eulàlia Reguant, denied this Wednesday that she had committed a crime of disobedience by refusing to answer questions from the popular accusation of Vox during the procés trial, where she appeared as a witness in February 2019, and He has assured that if the president of that court, Judge Manuel Marchena, had transferred Vox's questions to him, she would have answered.

This is how the leader has pronounced in the framework of the trial that is being held this Wednesday in the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court against her for an alleged crime of serious disobedience to authority.

Reguant, who has taken advantage of his right not to answer the questions of the Prosecutor's Office, has limited himself to answering the questioning of his lawyer, Daniel Amelang. In less than 10 minutes, the CUP deputy has reviewed the events that took place in the Supreme Court during the procés trial.

This trial was scheduled for March 1 and 2, but on the first day it was suspended after the court estimated a preliminary question from the defense, understanding that an error had occurred in the processing of the case. The defense maintained that day that there had been a violation of procedural rights since a Madrid court opened an oral proceeding without being competent to do so, since due to Reguant's condition of appraised the case corresponded to the Supreme Court.

Although initially the Prosecutor's Office requested a sentence of six months in prison and disqualification, in the end the Public Ministry has presented an indictment in which it claims four months in prison and disqualification from the right to passive suffrage, as well as a conviction in costs.
