Putin acknowledges that the sanctions imposed against Russia are "a great challenge for the country"

MADRID, 18 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged that the sanctions imposed on his country by a large part of the international community in response to the invasion of Ukraine constitute "a great challenge" for the Eurasian nation.

"It is clear that this is a great challenge for our country, but we are not going to give up, we are not going to be confused or (...) go back decades ago," assured the Russian head of state, according to the Interfax news agency.

In this sense, Putin has recognized that Russia is facing an "enormous number of difficulties" on account of the sanctions, for which reason he will now focus his efforts on finding "solutions", proceeding first of all to the "effective" use of the country's own capacities, as well as the promotion of national companies.

"It is clear that we cannot develop isolated from the whole world, but we will not do it, it is quite impossible to erect huge fences in the modern world, it is impossible," the Russian president remarked.
