The president of the Valencian Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has warned this Tuesday that the crisis with Algeria "a lot affects" the Community, especially Alicante, for which he has asked the Executive of Pedro Sánchez to "try to agree" with the Algerian Government "and seek solutions to provide the greatest possible stability."
This is how Puig pronounced himself in statements to the media from the Upper House before meeting with Valencian senators and deputies about the crisis in Algeria that began last week. "It affects us a lot," he lamented.
In this context, the Valencian president considers that "the path" is to "try to reach an agreement with the Algerian government and seek solutions to provide the greatest possible stability", adding that, in his view, "that is the path that the Executive of Spain", also highlighting the position of the European Union.
As he explained, Alicante "is almost closer to Algeria than to Madrid", highlighting the intense relationship with Algiers in commercial relations. In addition, he has pointed out the greater dependence on gas in ceramics in recent years, for which he has insisted on seeking "a normal scenario" that removes "the uncertainty" in the economy of the Valencian Community.
