Podemos warns Sánchez that there is no need to "whitewash the PP" by reaching out to him and visualizing the gap with the Sahara and NATO

Demand that the Chief Executive accept the 10-euro transport voucher and carry out more leftist politics to unite the coalition

MADRID, 8 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for United We Can in Congress, Pablo Echenique, has demanded that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, not "reach out" to the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, since that is "giving wings to Vox", to at the same time that he has shown the differences with his partner regarding the Sahara issue, the position before NATO and his refusal to raise the military budget.

In this way, he has alerted Sánchez to the risks of "whitewashing the PP" and has demanded "courage" to reactivate the progressive bases, strengthen the coalition itself and thus be able to stop the "reaction". Something that can be demonstrated if it promotes a tax reform that finances measures to improve the anti-crisis decree such as the 10-euro transport bonus for public transport that has been proposed within the Executive.

This has been transferred during his intervention in the framework of the appearance of the president, to report on the conclusions of the European Council held on May 30 and 31 and give an account of the consequences of the new stage in the bilateral relationship with Morocco.

The leader of the purple formation has spoken about the formulas to prevent the advance of the extreme right and has transferred to the chief executive that one way is to distance himself from the PP, because approaching the popular ones is also "whitewashing" Vox, understanding that the party led by Santiago Abascal "doesn't stop being a split of the popular ones".

Moreover, he has stated that the "far right" is also in the PP and has charged against the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, of whom he has said that she is "four beers away from burning textbooks in the Puerta del Sol", alluding to its plans to review the new school manuals within the regional inspection plan. He has also attacked the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, accusing him of being the first baron to agree with Vox despite trying to give an image of "moderate".

Therefore, he has advised the president to prevent "not giving an inch of ground to reaction" by making it clear that they are "different", "brave" and "bold" when it comes to governing.

And proof of this, Echenique has related, is that the president must rectify, be "at the height" of the left and return to the position of recognizing the right of self-determination of the Sahara, as established by the UN resolutions, and achieve an agreement between both parties, but acknowledging that the Saharawis are the ones "attacked" and I have a firmer position with Morocco, which is the invading power.

He has argued something similar regarding NATO and the rearmament strategy of European countries, because understanding the debate on how to deal with the "cruel" invasion of Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Echenique has warned that "it is not the best way To end this conflict, increase spending on "machine guns, missiles, and bombs." Especially, he has continued, when there are prevailing social needs such as the "battered" situation of Primary Health Care.

Moreover, he wondered if "it is sensible that Spain and Europe, instead of defending their own interests and autonomous strategy, bet all their actions on an alliance clearly subordinated to the interests of the United States."

In this way, Echenique has defended that the "intelligent" thing is to bet on peace, achieve its own security policy in the EU and deploy the "containment of military spending", which would unite the majority of the investiture and the coalition government itself.

In terms of energy, the spokesman for the confederal group praised the decree to limit gas in order to lower inflation, but he opined that more is needed than extending the anti-crisis decree, citing the rise in non-contributory pensions, expanding the volume of beneficiaries of the social bond and display the monthly public transport pass of 10 euros.

All this, as Echenique has broken down, can be financed without problems with a tax reform and an extraordinary tax on electricity and oil companies. Thus, he has emphasized that United We Can is clear in proposing yesterday a specific tribute to the great fortunes whose admission for processing was rejected by the PSOE together with PP, Vox and Cs.
