Oughourlian (Amber Capital) justifies the dismissal of Indra's independents due to their "castling" on the board

MADRID, 28 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The founder of Amber Capital and president of Prisa, Joseph Oughourlian, who also controls more than 5% of Indra, has justified his proposal that ended with the dismissal of most of the independent directors of the technology and defense group due to the "castling" of these before the change of presidents of Indra, which meant the replacement of Fernando Abril-Martorell by Marc Murtra.

The manager participated in a breakfast at the New Economy Forum this Wednesday in which he assured that Indra had a "governance problem" and highlighted the investment opportunity that it represents for Amber Capital, which has authorization from the Government to arrive to 9.99% of the capital.

"It is a key company for this country at the moment and I believe that the war in Ukraine has shown it. Spain has not invested in its defense for decades, it has to invest in its defense like the rest of Europe. The message from NATO and The message from the Americans has been very forceful," he assured.

In this sense, he highlighted the importance of a "strong" defense industry and the commitment to innovation and development in the sector.

The manager has also had words of praise for Fernando Abril-Martorell, the former executive president of Indra, considering that "he has turned that company around in a spectacular way".

"For me he is a model, I would like to do the same or a tenth of what he did in that company," continued Oughourlian, who recalled that he has been investing in the defense and technology company for many years.

This week, the board of directors of the firm chaired by Marc Murtra has called an extraordinary shareholders' meeting for next October 28 in which it will proceed to renew the board with the entry of six new independents.

Thus, if the shareholders approve it, six profiles linked to technology and industry will enter the body, such as Virginia Arce, Olga San Jacinto, Coloma Armero, Axel Arendt, Belén Amatriain and Bernardo Villazán.
