Norwegian fertilizer giant Yara cuts production due to record gas prices

MADRID, 25 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Norwegian company Yara, the world's largest fertilizer producer, has announced new adjustment measures that will reduce its total ammonia utilization capacity in the Old Continent to around 35% "as a result of record gas prices in Europe".

With this, the multinational will have reduced its annual capacity equivalent to about 3.1 million tons of ammonia and 4 million tons of finished products in its entire production system in Europe.

"Yara will use its global supply and production system to optimize operations and meet customer demand, including continued nitrate production using imported ammonia where feasible," the company said.

In this way, Yara assured that it will continue to monitor the situation and adapt to market conditions in the future.
