The four banks that operate in Spain and whose headquarters are outside the European Union added net losses of two million euros in the first quarter of 2022, according to the primary public financial statements of the credit institutions published by the Bank of Spain and Collected by Europa Press.

This figure represents more than triple the losses of 580,000 euros registered in the same period of 2021.

By entities, the branch of JPMorgan Chase Bank in Spain improved its results for the first quarter, reducing its losses to 559,393 euros compared to the ‘red numbers’ of 986,042 euros in the first quarter of 2021.

However, both Banco de la Nación Argentina, Credit Suisse AG and FCE Bank have worsened their results compared to 2021, a year that was still impacted by the measures aimed at curbing the Covid-19 pandemic.

Specifically, Banco de la Nación Argentina obtained a profit of 821,000 euros in the first quarter of 2022, 25.1% less than the profits of 2021, which rose to 1.09 million euros.

For its part, Credit Suisse AG S.E. delved into its ‘red numbers’, with losses between January and March of 2.64 million euros, compared to the negative result of 1.87 million euros in the first quarter of 2021.

Finally, FCE Bank Plc, Ford’s finance company, which in 2021 became a non-EU credit institution as a result of Brexit, earned 364,670 euros, 69% less than in the same period in 2021.
