Up to nine Real Madrid players conquered this Saturday the fifth ‘Champions’ of their career after beating Liverpool (0-1) in the final played in Paris and that raises the success of a squad that never tires of winning to unsuspected heights in Europe.
Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Nacho Fernández, Dani Carvajal, Isco, Marcelo, Carlos Casemiro, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have achieved their fifth Champions League this Saturday, all of them achieving their successes with Real Madrid except in the case of the German midfielder, who he was not yet at the club in the Lisbon final in 2014 but had already won one with Bayern in 2013.
All nine have caught up with his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, the only player to have lifted the gold medal five times since the change of format in the 1992-93 season. The Portuguese won one with Manchester United and four during his successful spell at Real Madrid.
