Nadal ascends to number four in the world with his fourteenth Roland Garros

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish tennis player Rafa Nadal has risen to number four in the world after his victory this Sunday at Roland Garros, while Carlos Alcaraz has dropped one place to seventh in an ATP ranking that Serbian Novak Djokovic continues to lead.

The Spaniard beat Norwegian Casper Ruud (6-3, 6-3, 6-0) in the final to win his fourteenth 'big' in Paris, which increases his 'Grand Slam' record to 22.

With the 2,000 points that his victory in the tournament gives him, he surpasses the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and adds 7,525, 270 from the podium closed by the German Alexander Zverev, who had to retire precisely in the semifinals against Manacor due to injury. Djokovic (8,770) continues to lead the list of the best tennis players ahead of Russian Daniil Medvedev (8,160).

The Murcian Carlos Alcaraz, despite adding 357 points at Roland Garros, drops from number six to seven, surpassed by the finalist Ruud. Both Pablo Carreño and Roberto Bautista drop one position to positions 19 and 20, respectively, and Alejandro Davidovich two to 30.

The great irruption in the 'Top 100' of the ATP has been that of the Valencian Bernabé Zapata, who after reaching the round of 16 in Paris suddenly rises 33 positions to number 97. The other Spanish rise in the ranking is that of Albert Ramos , one up to 43.

Pedro Martínez loses two places (45), Carlos Taberner six (91) and Jaume Munar (92) and Roberto Carballés (94) five each.
