Macron is considering dissolving the National Assembly if the opposition allies with a motion of censure

MADRID, 29 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, is considering dissolving the National Assembly and forcing the calling of new elections if the opposition makes a common front to "bring down the Government" with a motion of censure, Labor Minister Olivier Dussopt has warned. .

In the midst of the debate on the pension reform, Dussopt, who is precisely responsible for the negotiations in the making, stated in LCI that "if all the opposition united" against the Government, the French could be summoned to the polls again, so that they would say "what is the new majority they want".

Macron planted the possibility of the dissolution of Parliament at a working dinner organized on Wednesday at the Elysee and attended by representatives of the so-called 'presidential majority', as the parties that support the current president and his government are known.

The president wants to put on the table this year a pension reform project that, among other issues, will include some of the promises that Macron already made in the last election campaign, such as delaying the retirement age to 65 years .

A deputy close to Macron has recognized to Franceinfo that the unions will be key in this new scenario, in which the Government is studying raising exceptions based on the years of contributions or the difficulty of certain labor sectors.
