He says that the Basque PP would be willing to support the Basque Budgets if the Government is committed to reducing fiscal pressure

BILBAO, 12 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Basque PP, Carlos Iturgaiz, has considered that it is necessary to adopt energy saving measures, but "not those of the Government of Sánchez, which are in many things frivolous and teasing".

In statements to Onda Vasca, collected by Europa Press, the popular leader has thus referred to the energy saving plan implemented by the central government and to the criticisms leveled from the PP.

In his opinion, "measures must be taken, but not those of the Sánchez Executive, which are in many things frivolous and teasing." "Sánchez tells the families that they are having a bad time, that the question is to take off their tie or put the temperature at 25 degrees ... when Vitoria is not the same as Almería," he warned.

Thus, he has accused the President of the Government of "turning off the light and at the same time turning off the pockets of citizens", in such a way that it makes them "increasingly poorer". "I regret that the PNV continues to support the PSOE and that president who ruins the Basques and the rest of Spain," he assured, while disapproving that the energy plan presented by the PP has been "thrown in the trash."

For Iturgaiz, given the energy problem that is being suffered, it is necessary to take measures such as "supporting nuclear power, underutilized in Spain, while nuclear energy is bought from France."

Likewise, he considered that "what the president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has done", once the energy saving measures were announced, "the Basque Government has also followed". "Urkullu and Tapia have said the same thing: that the Autonomous Communities have not been counted on", she has expressed.

In addition, given the possibility of appealing the measures adopted, Iturgaiz has warned that "it would not be the first time" that the courts have corrected the Executive. "During a pandemic, the Constitutional already told him that it was unconstitutional to have us stuck at home. On the energy issue, we'll see how it ends," he said.

Regarding the Basque Budgets for 2023, Iturgaiz recalled that with Alfonso Alonso in the Presidency of the Basque PP, the formation came to support the Accounts in exchange for lower taxes and less fiscal pressure.

"The PNV agreed to that and then did not comply with it. Now everything is open to listen, but also to be listened to. We are clear that families and the Basque economy must be supported and that is done with less fiscal pressure. If that The Basque Government wants us to be able to understand each other. If their proposals are to reach agreements with Bildu and Podemos, there they are," he warned.

Finally, and regarding the future of the coalition with Cs, Iturgaiz has assured that he is happy with the joint work carried out in Parliament, but has stressed that "times are already different."

"Citizens have a problem of an internal nature. They are in a moment of reflection to change leaders, names, acronyms and colors. I am not saying anything new if I point out that each one will make decisions separately," he concluded.
