Isabel Rodríguez, before an embezzlement reform: "Fighting corruption continues to be the flag of the Government"

Demands Feijóo to rule on Ayuso's words on health and to clarify his fiscal position to reform financing

MADRID, 17 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister for Territorial Policy and Government spokesperson, Isabel Rodríguez, defended this Thursday that the fight against corruption "continues to be the flag" of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, when asked about a possible change in the crime of embezzlement taking advantage of the reform of the Criminal Code to repeal sedition.

This is how Isabel Rodríguez has pronounced during a breakfast of the Nueva Economía Forum on the possibility that the Government has left open to also modify the crime of embezzlement during the parliamentary process of the reform of the Penal Code, as the pro-independence parties are requesting.

When asked about this matter, the minister spokesperson has defended the action of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to reverse the situation in Catalonia since the illegal referendum and the unilateral declaration of independence, although she has claimed that "exemplarity" continues to be "the flag". .

In fact, Isabel Rodríguez's first response to this issue was to paraphrase a phrase from the former Defense Minister, Carmen Chacón: "Coexistence and harmony are worth a lot." This is how he has contrasted the management that Pedro Sánchez has made of the Catalan crisis with that made by the previous Executive of Mariano Rajoy.

The minister spokesperson has also spoken about other issues during this forum, such as health and the massive demonstration that toured the streets of Madrid last Sunday in defense of public health.

In this context, Isabel Rodríguez has assured that she misses that the leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, "has not yet said 'not a word' in relation to the insults to health professionals in the Community of Madrid."

In any case, the minister spokesperson has acknowledged that there is a national problem related to health, derived from the situation of the pandemic, although she has claimed the funding dedicated to this service since the arrival of Sánchez at La Moncloa.

Precisely, Isabel Rodríguez has also alluded to the problem of the regional financing model, acknowledging the difficulty in moving forward with a new system, although emphasizing that "never before have communities had so many resources from the State."

Of course, he has linked this reform to taxation, for which reason he has also urged the PP to position itself on a position with taxes, after several regional Executives governed by the 'popular' decided to apply tax reductions, although also some led by the socialists, such as the Valencian Community, Aragon or Castilla-La Mancha, among others.

Another of the issues that came up during the act was the Democratic Memory Law, when the date of November 20 is approaching. In this regard, Isabel Rodríguez cannot guarantee that mobilizations will not take place paying homage to the dictator Francisco Franco, although she has guaranteed that "those marches will not be in accordance with the law."
