Perisset, from a penalty, breaks the ceiling of the galas in the EURO

MADRID, 23 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The French team beat the Netherlands (1-0) this Saturday, with a goal from Perisset from a penalty in the 102nd minute, in another tight match at Euro 2022 in England to reach the semifinals, where it will meet Germany.

The French team broke down the quarter wall that marked their best result so far in the tournament, in their fourth presence in this round. France dethroned the reigning champions, a Netherlands that was subdued for much of the match played at the New York Stadium in Rotherham.

Goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar was vital in keeping the defending champions on their feet after 90 minutes. In the first half, the siege of France did not bring miracle goals, with several saves from the 'oranje' and a post from Cascarino.

The resumption served the improvement of the Netherlands, but without having an offensive presence. In the final stretch, France became animated again and forgave with a header from Geyoro and then with two chances that saved the rival goal almost from point-blank range.

In extra time, a Janssen penalty on Diani, which the referee reviewed on TV after the warning from the VAR, was converted by Eve Perisset into another agonizing victory at the crossroads of this European Championship. On Wednesday, France-Germany, in the semifinals, while England and Sweden will play on Tuesday.
