'Genoa' considers that the PSOE, by "copying" the fiscal proposals of Podemos, leaves the political center free for the PP

MADRID, 25 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will meet this Monday with the National Executive Committee of the PP, where he will take advantage of the economic alternative of the PP based on the tax reduction in the midst of the announcement by the Government of Pedro Sánchez to promote a new tax that taxes the great fortunes, as 'popular' sources have informed Europa Press.

The PP's territorial 'barons' are present in this body and many of them have already opened a fiscal career in their respective communities before the regional and municipal next year. In fact, Andalusia, Murcia and Galicia have confirmed that they will partially or totally discount the wealth tax and do not rule out further tax reductions.

The 'popular' are comfortable in the fiscal debate against the PSOE and believe that the Executive of PSOE and Podemos has "invented a new tax" to attract voters from the purple party, something that, according to the sources consulted, favors them because it allows them free the political center. "They copy the proposals of Pablo Iglesias and in this ideological framework the center leaves us expedited," party sources insist.

In 'Génova' they believe that with "this new tax on the rich", Sánchez continues with his "settling accounts with the IBEX and the businessmen", as part of his crusade against "the powerful". "What the PP wants is to put an end to the poor and lower personal income tax on measured and low incomes so that they have more money for the shopping basket," they explain from the 'popular' leadership.

Feijóo himself has publicly denounced the "fiscal voracity" of Pedro Sánchez. "There has not been a single president who has charged us more taxes," he said this Saturday at the closing of the PP congress in Melilla, where he stressed that the chief executive "is concerned that there are rich people" in Spain and he "that the Spanish are poorer every day with their policies".

In the Executive Committee of the PP, Feijóo will once again exhibit an image of unity and harmony with his 'barons', at a time when Vox, his rival on the right, is facing a split after the pulse of Macarena Olona to Santiago Abascal.

In public, the 'popular' avoid making blood and say that they trust that he will soon solve his internal crisis. In private, many PP officials rub their hands because, as they admit, this helps to recover votes from Vox within the "useful vote" strategy to present Feijóo as the only alternative that can unseat Sánchez de Moncloa.

In addition, PP sources point out that Abascal is now trying his own medicine, since in his day he himself launched a pulse against Mariano Rajoy and ended up founding Vox. The leader of the PP and Vox plan to see each other this fall but for the moment the 'popular' are in no hurry to set a date for that interview.

The meeting of the Executive Committee of the PP coincides with the media focus also on the CGPJ, after it was reported on Friday that the president of the Council and the Supreme Court, Carlos Lesmes, is preparing his resignation. In fact, this week he will explain to the Government room of the court and to the plenary session of the governing body of the judges the legal mechanism for his "possible replacement".

The 'popular' believe that the "ball is on the roof" of the Government, after they have been sent a judicial proposal to advance towards the professionalization and depoliticization of Justice and they have not received "or acknowledgment of receipt", according to sources of the formation.

Feijóo, who has accused the Government of "blackmailing" in the renewal of the CGPJ and the Constitutional Court, has said he is willing to sit down with the Executive but has defended putting requirements such as "suitability" or avoiding "revolving doors".

The leader of the PP will take advantage of the meeting of the Executive Committee to make some new appointments of the national structure, more focused on the area secretaries of the Executive, according to sources from the party leadership, who ask to wait until Monday because the announcement corresponds to the president.

Feijóo will travel to Galicia this week to participate in the fourth La Toja Forum inaugurated by the King, although it will be the first time that he has participated as president of the party and not as president of the Xunta.

There he will coincide with Mariano Rajoy --who has also attended previous editions--, a few days after he coincided in Madrid with José María Aznar. Both former Prime Ministers have praised Feijóo, who in turn claims the economic legacy of his predecessors.

In 'Génova' they salute the support of Aznar and Rajoy because, in their opinion, it shows that the different sensitivities of the party identify with the PP project led by Feijóo, the sources consulted have pointed out.
