Feijóo: "Sánchez has put a pufo of 6,000 euros in debt to each Spaniard"

MADRID, 31 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has not ruled out that in the future Spain will have to take adjustment and austerity measures because the current government "has not had to comply with any economic regulation by lifting the deficit, debt and spending rule limits" , which has led to the country being indebted at 300,000 million and has blamed Pedro Sánchez that "each Spaniard has a pufo of 6,000 euros in debt".

This is how he pronounced this Sunday in an interview that he has granted to El Mundo, and that Europa Press has collected, in which he has assured that the first thing he will do, in case of governing, is to explain the state of Spain's accounts and reduce the number of ministers.

"What we will do will be an audit of the economic, fiscal, debt and deficit reality and based on that we will undertake proposals. What I do guarantee is that with 30% fewer ministries the Government will be more efficient. And when the people see that a helicopter, a Falcon and an Audi are not used to travel 300 km, that no minister has the Falcon gold card, that the Government reduces its structure by at least 30%, we will begin to send an example to the people" , has pointed out.

Feijóo has also criticized that the banking tax that the Government intends to carry out "is a spill and involves a double risk" that in the end the citizens will pay. "I am convinced that the tax on banks will be passed on to citizens: either increases of cents in commissions or increases in loan rates or zero remuneration for deposits or giving less credit. Regarding energy, it is evident that have important results, that's why I want them to invest. If we put a tax on them, let's exempt 99% of it if they invest in Spain", he stated.

Likewise, he has recognized that he trusts the polls that place his party as the winner in the elections because "when there is a trend, it begins to have credibility" and has promised that if he proclaims himself president of Spain he will protect Catalan and also Spanish for " that is not a foreign language in Catalonia".

In the interview, the popular leader lamented the "fed up" of the population for having "a president in recession and a government in crisis." "In recent months they all agree that the PP has risen and is the majority in the preference of the Spanish and the PSOE has fallen. Today, the PSOE could not govern Spain," he pointed out, in relation to the credibility he gives to the current surveys.

In this regard, he recalled that his party has recently reaped "very resounding victories" and has reviewed the absolute majority in Galicia, "a spectacular result in Madrid" or "the historic victory in Andalusia", so he believes that these results will also be may carry over to the general election.

"I want to repeat the results of Galicia, Andalusia and Madrid. I will not give up a sufficient majority to be able to govern with PP ministers. This is the objective. Some thought that it is naive but I think that they are already beginning to think that it is possible", he stated. .

In this sense, he has pointed out that if there were elections this Sunday, he is convinced of "having a sufficient majority to govern" and has assured that he does not contemplate making a government pact. "There are two possibilities of governing Spain: repeating populism with a blurred PSOE and its pro-independence partners who have the key to the Government and the laws, or a party that has traceability in the face of crises, with political and management experience. I think the Spaniards are telling us," he assessed.

Regarding a possible dialogue with Catalonia, in case of governing, Feijóo has added that the Catalan constitutionalist space is an orphan space and his project in Catalonia and the Basque Country is to "represent" it. Therefore, he asserts that they will comply with the Constitution. "Within the Constitution, the Catalan and Basque space interests us a lot because we are autonomists and constitutionalists," he endorsed.

This dialogue with Catalonia will address ideas to improve the economy, lower taxes or how to invest, although it rejects the dialogue with ERC "to move towards a Catalonia in which Spanish is a foreign language, in which non-compliance with sentences is negotiated, in which is intended to continue with the acts of sedition and demands that this type be removed from the Penal Code".

In relation to the renewal of the CGPJ in the current legislature, the leader of the PP affirms that each week that advances he sees it more difficult to reach an agreement for it and specifies that the Government "has an interest in controlling the TC and I think it will do whatever you want by agreeing with ERC, Bildu and Podemos throughout the legislature".

"Our conditions to renew the CGPJ are in writing. We have renounced in this legislature to reform the law of the Judicial Power with the commitment that in six months the new Council will send us to the groups a proposal so that the judges elect the judges, and we set minimum requirements: that one has not been a minister or secretary of state in the last seven years; that to be president of the Supreme Court Chamber one must have 25 years of seniority passing sentences and create a thousand positions for judges in five years", has underlined.
