Feijóo demands that Sánchez "apologize" for the "only yes is yes" law and says that he is now rectifying for electoral interest

MADRID, 31 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has summoned this Tuesday the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, to "apologize" for the consequences of the so-called 'only yes is yes' law and has affirmed that the Government rectifies now, after more than 300 reductions in sentences for sexual offenders, for their "electoral interests" before the elections on May 28.

"He does not back down out of decency, he only does it out of fear. He does not care as much about the damage caused to women as the polls," Feijóo proclaimed during his speech before the Plenary Session of the Senate, where he stated that this rule "is not fruit of an error" but rather the result of Sánchez's "insensitivity" and his "irrelevance as president.

In addition, he stressed that former Vice President Carmen Calvo herself publicly confessed last night on a radio station that she knew what was going to happen from the first moment and asked "what kind of feminism justifies having knowingly lowered the sentences of hundreds of sexual offenders" .

For all this, he has asked Sánchez "how much longer will it take to modify the law" and if he is going to allow his Government to "insult" experts, jurists, judges or the media. "And most importantly, when are you going to apologize," she assured.

The leader of the PP has stressed that, since Sánchez is concerned about how he will go down in history, his government "will go down in history for those who took a step back in the fight for feminism in Spain." Having said this, he has asked the President of the Government not to blame the Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, count on the PP to change the law if he needs support and "assume responsibility".
