Errejón and Baldoví say that the pact with Alberto Rodríguez does not have an electoral dimension for now

Errejón stresses that the decisions for the 28M will be taken in the Canary Islands and is confident that the TC will rule in favor of Rodríguez after losing the seat

MADRID, 24 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Más País and Compromís have clarified this Tuesday, through their deputies in Congress, Íñigo Errejón and Joan Baldoví, respectively, that the incorporation of the Drago Project, the platform created by the former leader and former deputy of Podemos Alberto Rodríguez, to the so-called Acuedo del Turia does not imply, for the moment, an electoral agreement and that the electoral decisions of that formation must be taken in the Canary Islands.

The deputy of the Valencian formation, Joan Baldoví, has stressed that Drago requested his incorporation into this alliance of political formations and they did not have "any objection" in his joining this pact that already has eight parties, which is still open to adding more components if they so request.

In this regard, he has indicated that the Turia agreement is a "recognition framework" between political forces that work "from territorial proximity" to defend the interests of their respective regions.

Meanwhile, the leader of Más País, Íñigo Errejón, has celebrated that the entry of Alberto Rodríguez's project is "very good news" in a space for collaboration "of equals".

He has also said, about the possibilities of candidacies and coalitions in the islands facing the 28-M that they are "faithful to their philosophy and "the decisions of the Canary Islands are made in the Canary Islands, not in Madrid".

Finally, Errejón has stressed that Alberto Rodríguez was deprived of his seat in Congress in an "unfair manner" and hopes that the Constitutional Court will rule in his favor, upholding the appeal against the decision of the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, to withdraw the minutes after the sentence handed down by the Supreme Court.

Drago sealed his entry into the alliance this Monday, which, apart from Más País and Compromís, also includes Verdes Equo, Més per Mallorca, the Chunta Aragonesista, the Coalition for Melilla and the Movement for Dignity and Citizenship in Ceuta.

Rodríguez's platform explained that from his commitment to training strictly Canarian obedience and with principles of confederality, he announces his participation in this alliance of parties where they will contribute their "political vision of reality" of the archipelago and the need for "respect" for the people canary, "in conditions of equality with other territories that suffer in various ways from the centralist push".

The former deputy, who left the purple party after losing his seat, is committed to the collaborative space promoted by Errejón, Compromís and the rest of the forces that are not linked to United We Can.

The former number three of Podemos criticized that he had not received more support in the face of this unfair decision issued by the president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, as a result of the Supreme Court ruling against him, and even accused United Podemos structures of "attacking him " and "blame" him for keeping his congressional seat vacant in the chamber.

At the end of last year, he announced the "adopted and irrevocable" decision to head the regional list of Proyecto Drago as a candidate for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in the upcoming May elections.

He also expressed that his project is willing to try with other leftist formations and social groups in order to configure a unity candidacy, for which there are already open conversations.

In contrast, Podemos claimed that Noemí Santana was the person called to "lead" a broad left-wing front and called on Rodríguez to join the space now led by Podemos, since it did not seem logical that a project that arose "practically out of nowhere "will command the candidacy.

And along these lines, the Organization Secretary, Lilith Verstrynge, made it clear in a recent interview with Europa Press, asked about the attitude of her predecessor in the position, that "forms in politics are important." "The truth is that there is a certain belligerence that is difficult to understand having the political origin of the candidate," she launched.
