ERC believes an investigation commission is necessary on the 'Mediator' case, but sees "opportunism" in the PP

MADRID, 9 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The ERC spokesman in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, has transferred this Thursday that his formation will analyze "the degree of opportunism" of the PP to request an investigation commission in the Lower House on the 'Mediator' plot, although he has recognized that it is a "necessary" measure.

Since the plot was uncovered, presumably headed by the former Socialist deputy Juan Bernardo Fuentes Curbelo, Rufián has assured the support of his formation for the opening of an investigation commission to clarify the case and the degree of involvement of the Socialist Group in Congress .

Finally, the PP took the step and registered a petition to constitute it. Now it is the Board of Spokespersons that, at its next meeting, will have to discuss whether to include the debate on the creation of this body on the agenda of the next plenary session of Congress.

In statements to the media in the corridor of Congress, the ERC parliamentary spokesman has once again underlined the "need" to investigate 'Mediator', a "corruption case", but has advocated carefully studying the PP proposal, which has been branded as an "expert on corruption".

"We have to read it in detail and analyze the degree of opportunism that the PP has in all this," he has advanced, without clarifying whether they will support setting a date for their debate in an upcoming plenary session of the Chamber.
