The political party of Empty Spain sees it feasible to get some regional or municipal government

MADRID, 8 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The general coordinator of the Federation of Parties of Empty Spain and deputy of Teruel Exists, Tomás Guitarte, has not closed the door to people with other political backgrounds, in PSOE, PP or Ciudadanos, who now want to be part of the electoral movement of the España Vaciada, as long as they have "the objective of sharing the project and not that of political opportunity."

In an interview with Europa Press, Guitarte has defended the presence of former leaders of other parties "as long as they share the objectives", although he has recognized that "it is not the objective", because, as he has claimed, the main and basic body of Empty Spain is the one that "comes from citizen movements".

In any case, the also deputy from Teruel Existe has argued that "more than looking at the past, from Empty Spain it is interesting to look to the future": "The more we add, the better, but always with that criterion."

For her part, the general coordinator of the political party of Empty Spain, Inmaculada Saénz, has defended that the aspiration with which they have decided to attend the next electoral appointments is to achieve some regional and/or municipal government. In this regard, she has trusted that they do not need to be a pivotal party for the formation of future executives, but that others have "the key".

This is how the newly elected general coordinator of España Vaciada has also expressed herself in an interview with Europa Press when asked about her preferences when it comes to agreeing with the PSOE or the PP in the event that they have the key to future autonomous governments or municipalities after the elections of May 28, 2023.

"We are clear that Empty Spain is the only party that can grow in Spain, in the autonomous communities and in the municipalities because it can collect that exciting vote of people who aspire that our emptied territories not be completely emptied," he said. Immaculate Saenz.

In any case, he hopes to see the results of the next elections, although he has insisted that he believes that it is "feasible" to be able to aspire to be a Government and, for this, he has given the example of the representation obtained by Teruel Existe and Soria Ya: " We are serious and responsible, but ambitious to be possible governments in many territories".

Precisely, Empty Spain held its first political conclave two weeks ago in which Inmaculada Sáenz was elected as general coordinator of the political party, while the current deputy of Teruel Existe, Tomás Guitarte, became spokesperson for the Federation of parties of the Empty Spain.

In this Federation of parties, in addition to being the España Vaciada as a political organization that encompasses all the militants of the country, the formations of Aragón Existe, Soria Ya, Teruel Existe, Cuenca Ahora and Jaén Merece Más also attend, representing the provinces Burgos, Palencia, Valladolid, Salamanca, León, Toledo, Ciudad Real, La Rioja, Zaragoza, Huesca, Soria, Teruel, Cuenca and Jaén.

In this context, Inmaculada Saénz has argued that the idea of Empty Spain is to continue expanding provinces with the aim of "being able to contest the elections in territories where there are citizens concerned about this issue."

For this reason, he has once again defined Empty Spain as a transversal project, "in which there are people from the right, left or center", despite the fact that a report recently carried out by researchers from the University of Salamanca places them in a ideological current slightly located closer to the left space: "Our objective is not a fight of who belongs to whom".

When asked if they rule out uniting in any province with the platform of Yolanda Díaz, Sumar, Inmaculada Sáenz has insisted that Empty Spain is "transversal", but added: "We live in the territory, it is not that we listen to the territory ".

The first political conclave has come three and a half years after the macro manifestation of the Revolt of Empty Spain, which toured the streets of Madrid on March 31, 2019, an event that, as they acknowledge, changed the way of facing the Challenge Demographic in Spain.

In this regard, Guitarte considers that progress has been made since that day: "We have managed to get the Spanish and the political class to accept that depopulation is a structural problem for the country."

However, the also deputy of Teruel Existe has again exhibited his disagreement with the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the latest decisions, such as establishing the headquarters of the Spanish Space Agency in Seville: "It is shown that the theoretical assumption of the problem is of pure electoral marketing".

Meanwhile, Inmaculada Saénz has once again demanded the State Pact against depopulation, of which they have made a banner from the political platform of Empty Spain, and has encouraged the central government to apply the offices of the Demographic Challenge, even offering a space in the municipality of which she is mayoress, Nieva de Cameros, in La Rioja.
