MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The United Nations has estimated at least 35 dead and 82 injured, mostly girls and young women, in the attack on Friday against an educational center in the Afghan capital, Kabul, according to the latest balance released this Saturday. by the mission of the international institution in Afghanistan (UNAMA).

The balance exceeds the approximate twenty deaths confirmed until Friday by the country's Taliban authorities.

"UNAMA Human Rights teams in Kabul are helping to establish an accurate record of the attack. The latest UN figures show at least 35 dead and 82 injured. Most of the victims are girls and young women. All names need be documented and remembered and justice must be done," the UN mission said in a statement.

The incident took place around 07:30 in the morning, local time, in the Dasht e Barchi area, in the west of the Afghan capital, where a large part of the city's Hazara and Shiite minority communities reside, as reported by the Afghan Ministry of the Interior and has picked up the Tolo News chain.

The NGO Amnesty International has characterized the attack as a suicide attack and has asked the Taliban authorities to carry out an "independent investigation" into what happened.
